Puke Ariki, New Plymouth, is an integrated museum, library and visitor information facility that has set a new benchmark in knowledge and cultural heritage service delivery. Not only does Puke Ariki house one of the most important heritage collections in New Zealand, it also acts as the central library for the district.
An opportunity has arisen to join our Library team. In this role, your primary responsibility will be returning and shelving of library materials. You will also be providing a direct service to customers.
To be successful in this role you will have a "can do" attitude and work well both in a team and independently. You will be a quick learner, with a friendly personality and strong communication skills. Accuracy is important in this role and ideally you will be working towards a library qualification. Previous experience working in a public library is preferred.
This is a permanent part time position averaging 14.5 hours per week, which includes covering weekends and evenings on a rostered basis.
