New Graduate Midwife - Base and Hawera Maternity

Committed to providing safe and positive birthing experiences? Looking to share your knowledge and skills with whanau? This is an exciting opportunity for a newly graduate midwife to join a supportive maternity unit for their first year of practice. Based at the New Plymouth maternity, you will have the opportunity to: Work as part of a multidisciplinary team in the antenatal, intrapartum, postnatal ward or neo natal unit; Utilise your knowledge and skills to enable the mother and her family / whanau to care for their baby; and Demonstrate your commitment to quality assurance and accreditation principles. Taranaki Base Hospital has a secondary maternity unit, the birthing suite and antenatal ward are combined with six birthing rooms and seven antenatal beds. The post-natal ward consists of 16 beds. The neo-natal unit has level 2A accreditation with 6 cots and 2 Intensive care cots to provide care for babies from 28 weeks gestation. To be a successful in this role you will: Have completed your undergraduate midwifery studies and be eligible to be registered with the New Zealand Midwifery Council. Consultant Radiologist

Description Taranaki Base Hospital, New Plymouth Fulltime, permanent. Taranaki District Health Board (TDHB) is seeking the services of a permanent full-time general radiologist to work in our department at Taranaki Base Hospital. You would be working alongside nine other radiologists in the Department, reporting from: 6 General rooms 1 Angiographic & Special Procedures room (Toshiba Infinix 8000 C-arm\ commissioned in June 2016) GE Discovery CT 750 HD scanner - Commissioned April 2015 3 IU 22 Philips Ultrasound machines and 2 Aplio 500 Toshiba machines plus 1 CX50 portable machine GE E-cam Nuclear Medicine Suite Siemens Magnetom Symphony 1.5 T MRI revised January 2013 You would join a staff of around 70. This includes Sonographers, specialized MRI and CT Technologists, two Nuclear Medicine Technologists, four Registered Nurses, Medical Radiation Technologists, Administration and IT support staff. Essential skills include Plain Film, Ultrasound, CT, and MRI reporting. Desirable skills would include sub-specialty interest in any of: musculoskeletal MRI; general interventional radiology (no intracranial work); CT colonography; CT cardiology; nuclear medicine. All modalities are digital with voice recognition reporting on a recently installed Philips PACS/Kestral RIS platform. Consultant Dermatologist

Description Taranaki Base Hospital, New Plymouth Permanent, part time, 0.8 FTE Applications are invited for a Consultant Dermatologist. The successful applicant will join a department of 12 Consultant Physicians who have subspecialty interests in General Medicine, Cardiology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Respiratory, Renal and Rheumatology. We are keen to consider candidates seeking employment who have specialist qualifications registrable in New Zealand. The Dermatologist role is focussed on adult services (paediatrics is serviced by another consultant). In addition to clinics you will also be available to review inpatients on request from colleagues. There is no expected on call however collegial advice may be sought from time to time after hours. The Department of Medicine has a strong track record with education and training, and the successful incumbent will be expected to participate and contribute to the department's CME activities, including basic & advanced trainee registrar teaching, audit and medical student teaching. Taranaki Base Hospital, situated in New Plymouth, is a progressive regional secondary referral centre for the province of Taranaki with a wide range of medical and surgical specialties. A well-equipped Radiology Department provides a wide range of diagnostic and some interventional procedures. There is an excellent Laboratory Service and the IT service is among the best in the country. Stage Two of the building development will see the construction of a 20,000m2, six-storey building housing many of Taranaki Base Hospital's acute clinical services including ED, ICU, Maternity, Primary Birthing, Neonatal, Radiology, Laboratory and a roof-top helipad.
