Immigration New Zealand Essential Skills in Demand List review complete Back to News
19th January 2015 09:28pm
The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment has completed its annual review of two of the Essential Skills in Demand Lists – the Long Term Skill Shortage List and the Immediate Skill Shortage List.

Information on the changes to the skill shortage lists is available on the Immigration New Zealand website www.immigration.govt.nz – see ‘Latest news’ on the home page.

The Essential Skills in Demand Lists are reviewed and updated regularly to ensure that the Ministry’s policy is flexible and responsive to changing economic and labour market conditions. The reviews gather information from submissions made by stakeholders, which is considered alongside economic, labour market and immigration data. It is important that the lists reflect genuine skill shortages so New Zealanders are not disadvantaged in seeking employment and training.

For more information on how to add or remove occupations to and from these lists visit the Immigration website.
